- The Iowa Code authorizes the Board of
Supervisors to appoint a 5 - member Conservation Board to plan, develop, preserve,
administer and maintain all parks and playgrounds of the county. By this authority, the
Conservation Board authorizes the Board of Supervisors to levy a tax on all real estate of
the county, which is used to provide adequate programs of public recreation.
- The Conservation Director personally
manages and maintains all conservation areas, parks and recreation areas in Buena Vista
County.
