  The Emergency Management Commission, formerly known as Disaster Services Board, shall be composed of the County Board of Supervisors, and the Mayors (or their representatives) of the cities within the county, and the Sheriff of the county. The Board shall appoint a Director who shall be responsible for the administration and coordination of all civil defense and emergency planning matters throughout the county, both as to man-made and natural disasters.

Responsible for county wide multi - hazards and their contingency plans.

Coordinates emergency planning activities and services in the event of a

     disaster.

Assists governing officials of municipalities & county in the event of a disaster.

Promotes public knowledge of emergency management and disseminates

     information to the public.
